PADI Divemaster Internships

Fun and Adventure in Paradise!

Your SCUBA diving internship is at Cozumel Dive School a PADI 5 Star IDC Resort. We are located on the island of Cozumel Mexico. divemaster internships pool workWhile training towards becoming a PADI Divemaster, you will learn the daily operations of a Dive Resort by working along side local staff. On boat days you will be learning Divemaster skills and learn how to lead dives. While learning how the dive industry works you will be in a resort location with a focus in adventure and fun. You will learn about the local marine life, customer service, the role of a PADI Divemaster and understand the necessity for marine conservation and environmental education on Cozumel. Your internship will train you to be an excellent Divemaster in a fun and educational environment.

All of our interns will be sharing the same house and because accommodations are limited we prevent overlaps by starting the Divemaster internships every two weeks, on the 1st and 15th of every month.

For this reason we ask that you request an application. Fill out the form and return it to the contact email. You will be contacted by email when you are accepted. Many helpful information packs will be made available to you after acceptance to aid in travel and what to expect upon arrival on Cozumel.

divemaster internship underwater workHere are just a few things you will learn in your Divemaster Internship; how to fill tanks at the world’s largest fill station, lift bag use, Deep dives, Drift dives, Navigation dives, equipment repair, hang and sling tank assembly and usage, spear fishing, night dives, wreck dives, instructor assistant and dive guide leading experience that is unmatched anywhere by Divemasters who have been working in the industry for 15 plus years. No one can or will give you this much education and experience at such a low price in one great location.

There is NO CHEAPER WAY or BETTER PLACE to become an excellent diver than with a Divemaster internship at GoPro Cozumel - Cozumel Dive School . Experience a new lifestyle and come home a "PADI Pro".

Minimum – 1 month (4 weeks)

Open Water Diver or non diver ---------------- 8 week internship is recommended

Advanced Open Water Diver ------------------- 6 weeks are recommended

Certified Rescue divers ------------------------ 4 weeks to reach your goal as a Divemaster

If you have been certified with an agency other than PADI don’t worry, we can transfer your current certification level to a comparable PADI diving level with no additional time or charges.

No scuba diving certification is required however, an Open Water or entry level certification is recommended. It is a good idea if you are in good physical shape and have a friendly and fun loving personality. Respect for nature and being a water lover of at least 18 years of age is important as well.

• Help the staff of the dive shop; sign up clients for diving and assist with their purchases.
• Assist with pre and post dive Boat preparation
• Lead experienced divers on shore dives.
• Help customers with diving equipment and gearing up
• Assist the staff with divers
• Assist the instructors with student divers and other Interns in their programs
• Help with the customer flow and safety of divers on and off the boats



Cost 2017

Here is what you get: Picked up when you arrive at either Cozumel Int. Airport or by Ferry, free accommodations, Instructor training and fees from your level up to Divemaster, free diving and rental equipment. However, breakfast, lunch, dinner, flights, visas (where applicable) and insurance are not included in this adventure. The cost of your adventure is broken down to the time you spend here, these are only recommendations;

4 weeks US $1590       - if you arrive as Rescue Diver Certified
6 weeks US $2290       - if you arrive as Advanced Open Water Certified       
8 weeks US $2790       - if you arrive as Open Water Certified, or non-certified

Note: that if you have no scuba entry level certification we charge an additional $ 200 for the PADI Open Water course including materials and certification.

The Divemaster internship cost includes instruction however, PADI standards require that student divers have in their possession, a personal set of training materials (books and other scuba related items) for study and use during the course and for reference afterwards.

Training Material and Certification costs are:

$544          -If you arrive as Open Water Certified
$439          -If you arrive as Advanced Open Water Certified
$290          -If you arrive as Rescue Diver Certified

Note that these costs may vary if you already own materials. The DM application is not included in the above cost and has to be paid to PADI with a credit card at the end of the program.

A $ 300 non-refundable deposit is due with your booking. Full payment is due 6 weeks prior of program start date.

30 days prior to arrival; forfeit 30% of total (excluding deposit)
less than 30 days prior to arrival; forfeit 60% of total (excluding deposit)
Once the internship is started the total amount is non-refundable.
